Product Description

CAS 9003-04-7 Sodium Polyacrylate is a white powder or granular substance with a high water absorbency that forms a gel-like consistency when hydrated. It has a pH level of 7.0-9.0 in a 1% aqueous solution and is odourless, tasteless, and non-poisonous. This industrial and food grade product has a purity of 98% minimum and is used in water absorption products like diapers, agricultural applications, thickening agents, and wastewater treatment. Sodium Polyacrylate is a superabsorbent polymer that can retain liquid and is highly soluble in water. It has a shelf life of 2 years if stored properly in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

Sodium polyacrylate, chemical formula (C3H3NaO2)n, is a new type of functional polymer materials and important chemical products, solid products for white or light-yellow block or powder, liquid products for colorless or light-yellow viscous liquid. It is prepared by polymerization of acrylic acid- and its esters by aqueous solution. Tasteless, soluble in sodium hydroxide- aqueous solution, precipitate in calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and other aqueous solutions. It is often used as water treatment agent, brine refining and latex thickening, and can also be used as food viscosification and emulsification.
